For a picture-perfect pour.
Wait till you hear the story behind this rare collection: It goes back to 1847, when Stanislas Renault first opened his workshop in Argent-sur-Sauldre, France. One move and 173 years later, the Poterie Renault business had stayed in the family for five generations, continuing to handcraft iconic stoneware from French clay (and even fire it all in the original kiln). Sadly, they’re closing their doors—but not before we were able to snap up a treasure trove of vintage pieces. We brought them here just for you, and they’re available exclusively at our Shop.
This vintage French jug is making our hearts go pitter-patter, and for so many reasons. For starters, it was handmade in the Loire Valley from local grey clay, then fired with salt to create a one-of-a-kind shine. Then there are those beaded bands up and down, which—fun fact—were inspired by classic wood barrels and copper hoop jugs. Oh, and we haven’t even gotten to the spout: It’s a pouring pro, ready to serve up wine, savory sauce, olive oil, you name it. (Pick whichever vessel size suits the task best.) Did we mention it’s oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher friendly, too? Color us impressed.
