This was a splurge for me. So happy I did it
I am very much a soup person. This Low pressure cooker is making my favorite creations a snap. They are richer, more flavorful, faster to prepare. It should be noted that this pot is nonstick on the inside and on the outside. Nonstick was never a factor for me. Sticking food in my soup pots just has not happened. That said, while I am being careful, this nonstick material doesn't seem terribly fragile. So far I'm handwashing, but I always did that. I'm staying away from metal spoons. I did not always do that. I guess I'll see how I adjust.
What was I thinking?
Completely useless as a pressure cooker. I cooked potatoes in it yesterday and it took as long as it would have taken to cook in a regular pot and probably more energy since I had to keep the burner at a higher setting to keep the “pressure”.
Cooking meat? Forget it! Faster to slow cook.
my wonderful Le Creuset does a way better job
My Mother always told me: "Don't rush anything if you want to be successful at what you are doing, be it taking a test, studying, cooking, baking and more" She was so right. Sam Sifton wrote about Brett's Pot Roast and I thought I would make it in this Low Pressure Cooker. took over 2 hours and the meat was not even close to the silky texture my Le Creuset creates. Slow and steady always does a beautiful job. I am sticking to my classic beautiful Le Creuset and All Clad pots and skillets. You can make beautiful delicious food in traditional good pots.
