On the road again.
Inspired by a WWI Navy laundry bag and a 1900s apple picking bag, this backpack is made of sturdy canvas dyed a soft, broken-in shade of slate (exclusive to Food52!). There’s a simplicity to the entire construction: Fisherman’s knots allow you to adjust the cotton rope shoulder strap, which are then threaded around the opening through grommets to cinch it closed. Even if you do have all of your tech inside (it fits most iPads and tablets, with two interior pockets to store cords or anything else), you can still feel like you’re walking around in simpler times.
